wow I remember him...he was very handsome, he could've been a model.
his song were cute & very calm.

I found him attractive but not a model. I mean sure I can see him in a mc Donald’s commercial singing about the 2 for $5 special but model.. nah

He was in that Neo Soul movement from the early 00s. A lot of them went back underground after mainstream was, done with Slow Jams.

Right. I remember NEo soul picked up circa 1996 died (in my opinion) circa 2008

However we had a few on hits from some artists. Remember Frankie? He was the Musiq Soulchild before Musiq

He from my city (Toronto) and an R&B legend to us

Thing is, Glen came out at a time when we had no music industry infrastructure up here pre-Drake era, especially for black artists. Glen got signed in the states but this was also early 2000s when mainstream R&B was at its absolute peak and trending downwards. His album World Outside my Window did well, had singles, videos on BET but at the time, it seems like it cost the labels too much to blow up an unknown Canadian r&b singer.

However, if he came out during Drake era, he would have blown up like The Weeknd and Tory Lanez did, he’d own the R&B lane and would be wayyyyy bigger than Daniel Cesar who’s in that lane now but with his weak ass sophomore album and his c00ning antics, he might not be around much longer. If he had access to so many of the producers that are in the city now, he’d be huge in the states. Especially in this social media era. It’s unfortunate but life is about timing... he still tourin tho

Drake should do a collab with him. So Far Gone era Drake and Glenn Lewis could make some real hits.

Exactly, nikkas is sleep.

I've said it time after time, if it's not on mainstream outlets, mfs don't think it could possibly exist or be valid. Even if folks don't like modern artists, a lot of the old greats are still killing it, but they're no longer getting mainstream looks. Part of this is because, despite all the shyt people talk about wanting quality music, they don't fukking support it. The Glenn Lewis thing reminds me of Bilal. People always ask what happened to him, and I'm sitting here listening to all the fire he's made in this very decade. Also, India.Arie & Musiq Soulchild both came out with pretty good albums in 2017/2018. Eric Benet dropped a single that came up on one of my Apple Music playlists recently. Hell, even Chaka Khan dropped an album this year. The R&B people claim to love has never gone anywhere. I'm not even gonna mention all the modern artists who are killing it, because nikkas are so closed-minded.

Artist development

Thanks. Yes. I am a firm believer in artist development. All of the greats like The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Whitney, The Jackson’s, Stevie etc including the young ones like CB, Rihanna, Beyonce went through the same training. You won’t get that from these artists today. It’s nothing but popcorn music.

I still listen to world outside my window. In fact, that “don’t you forget it” came up on my playlist yesterday when I was driving...

You're worlds apart
From first where life would start
Understanding what it means to have got
Nothing but your heavy broken heart
The memory of what used to be
With change comes responsibility
