Sidenote: On days when I'm really being honest with myself, It Was Written is my favorite Nas album.

I came up at a time when it was damn near blasphemous to say that, but this album is just :ohlawd:

:ahh:

the album was his zenith. perfect street & commercial (at the time...would damn near be hardcore, today) mix. his flow had been mastered. complexity/simplicity of rhymes...everything. i always say, illmatic was the more important album for the genre, but iww was the most well rounded. its a record on there for every mood.

"It's just the likeness of Isrealites-ness that made me write this"

"I got no game it's just some bytches understand my story"

"wasn't for rap then i'd be stickin you, the Mac inside the Triple Goose"

"my Movado say 7 the God hour that's if you follow"

:ahh:

I love this album and it was cool how we saw the intro to the firm throughout the album also.
