Give it time. I was just talking to my friend about this same exact topic but I reckon we'll start to eat good with this new generation from 2015 tbh. By then, we should have games like FF, KH, MGS, etc.. all coming out in quick succession.

Maybe the world will end soon and this gen is just a hoax to make people feel like everything is going swell.

Gang violence...
Sonic Adventure dropped December 1998 in Japan.

He is right though. AAA games back then were a dime a dozen, and a lot of those games broke ground back in 1998. MGS and Legend of Zelda: OoT in a span of one month? :whew:

Once the PS3/360 generation came around, it was like a requirement to have online play/ cinematic gameplay/ expensive voice acting and it is breaking budgets like crazy.
i mentioned america, nobody here was benefiting from a japanese dreamcast release schedule. his post is misleading

2013 saw The Last Of Us, GTA V, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Bioshock Infinite, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Tomb Raider, Ni No Kuni, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6, Lego City Undercover, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Rayman Legends.

Looks like a good year to me. :yeshrug:

seriously?

a lot of games dont even take long to finish opposed to the games i had on ps1/2/gameboy

Them "AAA blockbuster cinematic experiences" ain't cheap these days.

Plus add in the fact that a shytload of studio's either closed down or went indie over the past several years so the influx of game releases has been slowed down significantly.

And Japanese developers got shook when gaming went HD last gen and wasn't prepared. So most of them jumped ship to mobile gaming where it's cheaper to make games.

:ohhh: realest/most logical answer in this thread. a lot of studios did get shutdown. Is this because they lacked funding for games? I thought they were being backed up by bigger companies? no?
Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft ain't showing love for the companies who basically made them who they are? (in the gaming world).

Why some games gotta do all that extra shyt? I played the shyt out of Skyrim/Fallout and that shyt looks like my homies who I took programming classes with could do.

Some people weren't so focused on graphics, game would be release a lot sooner than later.
