Its been rolled into operational excellence (OE). Allot of the tools are still used in mfg. Im in pharma supply chain and find OE very helpful.

It went from TQM to TPM to Six Sigma to Lean-6 Sigma to Agile. At the end they all build on each other.

To get on a rant here: Lean 6 Sigma should be easier than ever now. With the right staff you can data mine through SQL or Python to find errors or possible errors in manufacturing or distribution before they even ship out the customer.

This is part of what I do for Quality Assurance. I use and now design quries to look for issues.
