Neither one is going to be a star in college or in the NBA. And he's right.
SC Supreme isn't a good AAU team and neither is BBB. This was an Adidas money grab. These aren't top teams on the circuit, not even close.
Lamelo is not Lonzo, not by a long shot. He's about to be a junior, and can't do much of anything besides shoot wild 3s and kick the ball out.
Zion has no skill set, which is problem of most kids with his size and ability. No need to develop your game when you can bully everyone. He has a lot to get better at.
If Zion cant shoot or play on the perimeter (or guard it) then I see him as a more athletic Julius randle. That bully ball aint gonna work in the NBA...
And you're basing this on what exactly?
But that's the entire point, he can't be a smaller 6'7" Shaq, because Shaq was Shaq because he towered/powered over everyone. Zion isn't going to be able to do that in the league.
Unless he has another growth spurt, he's not gonna be able to play the 4 at league level. Everyone putting their faith in him are banking on him turning into a perimeter threat, which at this stage, isn't looking likely.
Nowhere did I state or insinuate he's going to be garbage, I just he's not going to be able to play the 4 full-time at his current height, and his success in the league is going to be based on him developing his perimeter game. Nobody can come into today's league and truly dominate with an inside game at his height. He'd be able to get away playing at the 4 if he projected to be a dominant defensive player (like Draymond can), but quite clearly he isn't.
And another one who's gonna be in for a rude awakening.....
I mean, he's generally more skilled/athletic than him, but the Julius Randle comparisons have been layered over and over for a reason. He plays exactly like him (well, exactly like Julius thinks he plays). At his height, I'm not sure if that's going to translate over to the league.
Randle actually has more offensive skills, try again.
