I think it's a couple things. One I believe a lot of those older producers have priced themselves out. Not saying they should drop their prices but yall know artists and labels going for the cheaper option.

The other issue is you have to connect with new/young artist to stay relevant. Hes probably not trying to run around trying to get placements to Lil Keed, Gunna and all of them.

One thing I've always wondered about is how older producers charge.

I know some of the young cats now barely even get paid - I can't imagine Chance going to Pete Rock and saying "Gimme a beat - it's a good look for you!" instead of paying him what he's worth.

True but he's not even working with artists who would likely fukk with him and pay what he wants. Drake would rap over a Toomp beat. Kendrick, Cole. In terms of legends he's already worked with Nas and presumably could again. Then there's Hov. TI still making music, so is Jeezy. Rick Ross.
