I'm thinking of starting my own blog but don't know what the best site to use. I want a site where I can get good traffic besides the content I post. I'm mainly using it to post my thoughts and random things I find on the net. So any recommendations?

Are you looking to blog on an existing free platform or make your own blog?

This is probably the most important thing to figure out. If you decide to use a free platform, I would recommend Wordpress.com. If you want your own blog (self-hosted), then I would recommend Wordpress.org.

WordPress. Its free anf offers the best SEO and traffic generating capabilities. Easy to port over your existing .WordPress to a .com once you want to get your own domain/server space.

WordPress looks difficult.

it is and it isn't. its pretty easy to get a blog up and running but things dont always work like you'd think. formatting articles was such a pain in the ass when we were using it. its still probably the best platform out there and id recommend it to people but i hated using it

Wordpress is the easiest overall if you are registering your own url. Hell if you go through godaddy you don't even need to learn how to install it

They just have the most support over anything else out there.

Looking for a theme? Plenty of free ones + themeforest

Plugins? The most supported platform

Hell, Wordpress got so big its not really used for blogging anymore...shyt evolved into a damn platform for EVERYONE to use.

If you're serious, its not expensive to host your own site

I paid $15 for my domain name at GoDaddy

$10 a month at Host Gator for as many sites I wanna host
