letting kids run in the parking lot
disrespecting authority figures completely unprompted
horrible diet
physical impediments left unaddressed (kids with poor gait, posture at very young ages)
parents who can't name their kids friends or identify their social circle
unchecked internet usage
not providing extracurricular activities to their kids
poor hygiene obviously - but kids who should be old enough to wash themselves not doing so is a clear indicator of lack of structure/value for it at home
"watch tv and go away" habits
babied vocabulary, indulging behavior because its funny or cute

i could go on. but i don't expect a lot of people to even think about this shyt seriously tbh. being a bad parent is very, very easy

I dated a chick who had a teenage daughter who was quiet like that. One day the chick told me her daughter has to be reminded to shower because she'll go days without a shower, which baffled me. The girl was quiet, shy acting, introverted, all that... And the chick i was dating did have a habit of "going off" on her for grades and dishes and other shyt..

Also it was the norm for her and her daughters to stay up all damn night til 5am and sleep all day, which again baffled me

I don't if the child was depressed or her mom wasn't a good parent but reading those posts made me think of that

I would argue it should be. Structure and discipline are key lessons to learn at a young age.

self-actualisation

confidence

security

communication

rationality

self-discipline

letting the child's personality and mind grow in a safe secure environment

I used to know a chick that had a 12 year old son, and used to do the whole "I give my son everything, I make it happen" thing, which I thought was bad parenting.
Kid was flunking school, needed tutoring, and the mom was right there gifting him an Xbox and a ton of video games.
Giving him iPhones and other sh*t, kid used to spend all weekend scrolling social media and when he got bored of that jumped on Xbox live.
I made the mistake of speaking on it, if the kid is flunking, why is he getting all this? You will only make it worse.
Shorty wigged out on me, of course the kid continued to flunk.
Kid gained a bunch of weight, last I heard he transferred schools.
Mom still gives him everything.

I had bad parents. The not answering questions and trying to be invisible seems to ring true. It's easier to just not be there. I can see it.

At the same time, I think most people have bad parents. It is what it is. :manny:
