We provided arms and training to the Mujahdieen during the Soviet-Afghan war. Osama Bin Laden did fight on their side but he wasn't a leader and we weren't directly funding him.

Their country was better off before we invaded tho..is Afghanistan a better place now. NO..one of my friends went to Afghanistan in the 90s and she loved it,,now it's a hell hole
