Naturally gifted...

There are hardworking people who aren't as naturally gifted who don't make it as far in life because they just don't have the natural talents. Reggie Evans is an example of someone who gives 100% and works extremely hard but has never made it past being a roleplayer because he doesn't have natural gifts. Shaquille O'Neal is an example of someone who didn't give it nearly his all but still retired as the best of player of his generation at best and a top ten all-time player at worst, mostly based off of his natural God-given gifts.

The shyt works both ways.

But here's the thing... you can always develop a work ethic. You're not going to just become more gifted.
Shaquille O'Neal was naturally gifted height wise, but he had to work on is game. While growing up, he needed help getting leg strength. Shaq approached the LSU coach when he was in Germany to get tips on getting stronger. LSU coach jib jabbed with Shaq, until he found out he was like in junior high. The coach saw a ton of potential, both recruiting wise and athlete wise. So, he had to work at the game and physical conditioning, or he would have turned into just another NCAA Div III NBA-wanna-be guard.

On the flipside, Shaq Diesel is a naturally talented rapper. :dj2:

LOL.

Hard working, because a lot of naturally gifted people crumbled when shyt gets tough. They get too used to having it easy due to their talents

I can guarantee you that the difference between shaq and reggie evans is several thousands of hours of practice in favor of shaq. Fact is those hours were definitely built up earlier on in his development in the case of shaq.

People don't realize that in sports in particular, any player that has remarkable natural talents at a young age is separated from their peers and allowed to spend far more hours than their peers practicing the craft. Look at lebron, shaq or any player at a young age who was a freak of nature. The advantage of their talent is it exposes them to superior coaching and training earlier on, which creates a snow ball effect for their talent, and people think oh thats just a naturally gifted guy. No not entirely.

Michael jordan is a great example of hard worker who want naturally gifted at first. Hes only the goat. :mj:

NATURALLY GIFTED. SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE USUALLY LIMITED BY THEIR OWN ASPIRATIONS. THE ONES WHO DO NOTHING ARE USUALLY HAPPY DOING NOTHING.

over time the hard worker always wins.

A natural talent will provide some instant gratification, but if we overcome the ADD and keep paying attention, without hard work the talent will be eclipsed by hard workers soon enough.

Theres research out there that says the brain needs 10,000 hrs of practice before it can truly master something, and that its true even of genius level brains.

Skip bayless called michael jordan the rare naturally talented over achiever, marinate on that :skip:

MJs story was just like Jerry Rice. If you tried to tell a nikka that a dude who was barely 6'2 and ran over a 4.7 40-time was going to end up being the greatest WR to ever play in the history of the NFL they'd automatically give you the :stopitslime:

Jerry Rice was the greatest WR to every play the game and no one in the past 10 years has come anywhere close to touching his records, yet this is the same dude who got only ONE college scholarship offer out of high school and it wasn't even from a top college. There were many players during his era who had more 'talent' than he did, but he outworked them all plain and simple.

Hard working, easily.

Getting things done and not being lazy gives you a huge advantage over others who aren't as motivated.

I would probably lean towards being naturally gifted, you still need plain talent to be great and work ethic can be learned if you get around the right folks
