which album do you think jay wasn't completely sure of himself and was trying too hard to be accepted by either the mainstream and/or the hardcore rap fanbase? basically the album where you don't buy into all his arrogance and it just sounds false and insincere to you?

i'm gonna go against the grain and say reasonable doubt :troll: yes in many ways it was his best album but I feel he was still trying to find his footing and jumped on the mafioso bandwagon because it was hot at the time.

I voted KC, cuz he was just so desperate to show people he was on some "grown man" shyt despite being almost 40 when the album dropped. then 3 years later on BP3 he's autotuning and wearing timbs and tight jeans.

BP2 he was spitting some of the best heat of his career, it's much better lyrically than the original blueprint but his delivery was off...it was like a dazed dude swinging after gettin hit with a haymaker

blueprint 2 and its not even close

you could hear the ether leakin out of his verses

that austin powers impression on the title track :scusthov:. dude was still tryna claim he was the best but had to resort to clownin on the hook :russ:

yep, I damn near hate that album because it contains some of Jay's best technical emceeing (he was rapping his ass off on that album) but yet it had some of the saddest pandering, backtracking and damage control you'll ever hear. The slow monotone flow assassin Jay was nowhere to be found on that album and you've only seen flashes of him since.

it was like watching your favorite fighter look timid in his first fight back from his first vicious KO loss

the one where he talks about owning a nba that he never really did, talks about selling drugs he never really sold, talks about materialistic things because he is as deep as the shallow end of an inflatable pool, and talks about the dualities

I voted for kingdom come. My mom had blueprint 2 when it came out , i was young and I didn't like it so I never revisited it to really listen to it. Kingdom Come was a sorry excuse for a come back man.

:dead: at so many different answers

ayo but forreal, i liked BP2, but its obvious he was a little insecure on that album esp. with the title track but also that album had not one cohesive sound. he also tried shyt he never tried knowing nas was good at that kind of thing 'meet the parents', personification like 'ballad 4 the fallen soldier'

BP2 i really liked a few years ago, but i have to revisit. it has a lot of decent songs interspersed with some serious misses
