What would you prefer him do?

pass a bit more if need be. Embrace the idea of being a combo guard as opposed to being an undersized 2. That won't be easy on a team with Fox and Briscoe, but if he's just a scorer, that could hurt his stock slightly and if he can't sustain this level of efficiency at the next level, he screams sixth man.

If he goes to Philly, he can be the "pg" like Kyrie is, wouldn't that mean he gets a fair amount of open looks due to playing with a slasher in Ben?

He would fit well though because he'd get fed a lot, BUT Monk would also have to be able to find Embiid.

Too small to be a starting SG, not good enough of a playmaker to be a starting PG

Curry was a one of a kind shooter with unlimited range and plus handles.

Monk can score but he is nowhere near Steph as far as shooting and handles...dude looks more like monta

Monk has shown potential of being a very good shooter, not curry level of course but on par with great shooters in the nba. He almost dropped 50 last week and couldn't miss from 3.

Curry was a great shooter in college but nobody was really saying he was all time great. And curry just got his handles the past 2-3 years (I still don't think he has "handles" like kyrie/iverson) so monk or any guard that works hard can develop handles like curry.

my point is curry got where he is with a ton of work after he got in the NBA. But most doubted him.

Offensively/scoring he's a powderkeg but what you gonna do with him defensively? If you play him at point he might not be an issue defensively but does he have the playmaking? Put him at the 2 and I think your looking at a Monte type issue defensively where he just get's abused by bigger guards.

At the 2. Plenty of smaller 2s who excelled

not always. The ball can't always die when Monk gets the ball. Besides, Simmons can't be the only facilitator they have. Now if they grab Monk and another PG (for argument's sake, Fox), then Monk won't be as needed to be a necessary facilitator, only a willing one.

He's an undersized gunner with a solid J, great athleticism but mediocre to poor handles (for an NBA ball handler. He can do some flashy things but in terms of getting where he wants to go on the court in the halfcourt he's meh). If those handles tighten up he could be a Kyrie lite type of guy. The Lou Williams comparisons make sense but with more talent
