Maybe because he'll likely go to a team where there's a player, maybe even 2 that are better than him. Nobody's gonna give Monk that kind of green light if he can't contribute in other ways.
Monk can be a #2 option in the NBA. Maybe with development, a number #1 option

I'd be more worried about his consistency as a scorer.
Wow, that's the ONE aspect I wouldn't be worried about. Kid is definitely a pure shooter. You would expect his numbers to get better IF he's the real deal, which I think he is. So just like he embraced playing defense when Cal challenged him, I can see him working to improve, learning how to get open off screens, etc. Almost 40% from 3 as a freshman is nothing to sneeze at.

Lou Will is my dude, but Monk is a better shooter. When I watch Monk play I see a shorter but slightly more athletic Rip Hamilton. That kid develops Rip's mid-range jumper, and it's OVER.

It wasn't a major concern, but it was a legitimate one heading into the season.

He has more than proven that he can be a consistent scorer at the next level although he still has his cold stretches.

I would say he's more of a microwave guy than a consistent scorer.

Oftentimes the majority of his points fall within a small window of time, which won't always fly at the next level.

I don't see a superstar player, but a good scorer, ala JR Smith, Jamal Crawford type. Better than Buddy Hield tho :russ:
