I ask because I see on Craigslist everybody hyping up new apartments in BedStuy, Bushwick, East Williamsburg, etc. I be getting tempted, but then I see those names like Gates Ave, Nostrand, etc. and I think that come Summer-time sh!t is going to be wild around there.

As a hypothetical, what part of Northern BK can a young, suspender-ed, glasses-wearing fella from Iowa/Portland/Maine walk around at 9pm with his Ipad 2 out?

calm down....those streets are nothing like in "Do the right thing" days...I'm assuming as far as Nostrand you are not talking on the other side of the (eastern) parkway, and you're looking in Bed-Stuy. Those spots are pretty chilled. Bed-Stuy is becoming more diverse...majority black with hipsters and brownstones...bushwick/williamsburg is hipster with a lot of hispanics still there...a lot of lofts in old factory looking buildings. I know Bed Stuy got some nice little spots now as far as food. BK is def transforming for the richer.
