were they a posion to hip hop? do they deserve more credit?

I feel like NWA brought so much fukking negativity to hip hop, but at the same time it was necessary. studio gangsters, but caused one of the big seismic events in hip hop; predicted the LA riots; was a soundtrack to the fukking LA riots; forced the white house to pay attention to this gangsta rap shyt

fukkng NWA man. i'm not sure what to make of them really

"N.W.A is the most influential act of the last thirty years - bigger than Nirvana, Madonna, or the Sex Pistols. Nothing has been the same since they came. I remember I was in LA when I was a kid, and I brought 'Straight Outta Compton' back to New York. More people were coming over to my house to listen to N.W.A than were going across the street to the crack house. I had the real shyt. It was kind of like the British Invasion for black people." - Chris Rock

Well, their break-up did lead to what is arguably the best hip-hop album in history (Death Certificate). I can only wonder what the group would've been like if Cube never left and put his best material on his solo albums. :whew:

nikkaz4life is one of the best produced rap albums of all time. It was basically the blueprint for the chronic and doggystyle
Ren's lyrics were :blessed:. Him and DOC penned the whole album and he absolutely destroyed every track he was on.

some of the songs on AMW we written for Eazy and probably Dre as well so they would have ended up on the next NWA album or at least on Eazy's next solo
