I think a few states have that 3.2% beer shyt. But that's just supposed to be for supermarkets, not liquor stores and bars as far as I know.

Have you lived in Houston or Dallas?
Actually, I've lived in both cities. I'm currently in Houston. I dislike TX because of the culture and politics. Everybody is fukking a hardcore republican and Trump supporter. shyt makes me sick. It's too much of a conservative state for my liking.

Liquor laws in Oklahoma & Arkansas are horrid. I don’t think retailers in Oklahoma are allowed to sell cold beer unless it’s diluted.

It’s probably an alrite place to visit for a few days.

I was in Tulsa during election season years ago and those campaign ads...

100% yes. The place is boring beyond belief, has the most tornadoes of any place in the world, the beer is .03 %, full of Baptist zealots, very racist (I personally met several skinheads at OU, and I’ve never met one outside of OK in my life), terrible flat landscape, low standard of living, tattoos were banned while I was there, etc etc.

However, OU was a great school, in terms of my education (that’s it though). I would go back in time and go to a different school instantly if I could.

I’m going to say something that you might think of as extreme, but it’s true. OK took something away from me and changed me as a person. Some good, mostly bad though. OK will teach you something about yourself, but you gotta ask, at what cost?

Everybody I went to OU with hated Oklahoma. Everybody :merchant:

Everybody was thinking of how to get out of the state. I’ve lived in like 12 different cities and states. I’ve never been to a state where it’s citizens actually, and across the board, hate their state.

Stay away
Yeah, sounds like you haven't been to Oklahoma in a good 15 years.

Lots of things have changed since you were here.

When ya'll say places are boring. Like they don't have a club scene? no hole in the wall joints? movies? dave and busters? lazer tag? mall? zoo? etc... WTF are yall looking for?
Life, culture, fun

Come to chicago any weekend during the year,
There are dozens of concerts happening
Sporting events college/professional
Art shows, exhibits, museums, film festivals
Outdoor spaces, festivals where hundreds/thousands are gathered
Outdoor/Indoor activities for families
Clubs and bars parties for singles to gather and mingle

I was in OKC the last week of august, checked FB events and Ticketmaster, asked around and it was dead. Was not going to waste another weekend exploring their 2 blocks of china town and empty downtown.
Drove down to Dallas, hit an indoor waterpark w the kids, went to a texans game 4 cheap, 2 black strip clubs, hooked up w a chick off tumblr, saw 2 chains, visited the 6th floor museum in dealey plaza, shopped at northpark center.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.

I would say the amount of activities going on, culture, food & outdoor activities.

I live in NYC so there is no boredom here but I assume that’s what counts as fun to most people here.

This is why diverse large cities tend to be the magnets of fun.

If a place is considered dead then most people would say it’s not fun.

I’m a fun person and can have fun in the most “boring” city. So I think it depends on who you go with also.

So basically it's only like 10 "fun" cities in the entire US.

Yeah, I left in 2005. I'm glad to hear that it's getting better. It desperately needed to
