Theres nearly 1,400 people worth over a billion dollars in the world. Cant one of these dudes buy a franchise and troll every other team by throwing a blank check to every great Free Agent?? I mean, theres no salary cap.

:yeshrug:
There is a salary cap.
Teams aren't that good of an investment. It can be a money losing investment. LA Dodgers went bankrupt. That's just an example.

shyt not only the MLB but the NBA. Most pro sports ownership are exclusive clubs even for billionaires. Larry Ellison tried to buy the Warriors when they SUCKED, and got turned down. He is worth 39 BILLION dollars MORE than what Cuban is worth. No thats not a fukkin typo.

theres not enough free agents available to spend $1B anyways. in a good free agent market lately there are only like 4-5 guys youd absolutely want to sign at whatever cost, then a bunch of mediocre veterans. most teams have their young stars locked up or give them extensions a few years before they can even hit the market. the yankees basically did this in 09 when they signed texiera, CC, AJ burnett and swisher. unfortunately this worked :birdman:

Pretty much. I was gettibg ready to type something out like this ! There generally isn't enough talent even if you brought the team and most likely you'd be getting a bad team where one Robinson cano won't make you ws winners .You'd be better off throwing money into scouts and player development and hoping to get a Strasburg and Harper like that by searching the world

its not about how much youre worth but rather how much youre worth to your team

Being an owner is like being in a frat. Aint no outsiders, especially foreigners, coming here and getting approved for teams. You have to be backed by some note-worthy popular people and ex players. It is known that those old white men don't let just anybody in

As crazy as it may seem there are a lot of people who don't really care about sports like that. Beyond that the teams capable of attracting an outsider (Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys etc.) likely won't ever be available.
