As far as I know theres never been a side scrolling/platform beat em up that's on the frantic-ness on par with a gunstar heroes-esque game.

You may have just created a new sub genre.

Its structured like a sonic game

levels have platforming and loop de loops but after a few levels it turns into a treasure game

You have melee moves and the game throws a lot of enemies at you especially towards the end

I feel like the game has a balance of both action and platforming like a jak and daxter game

but if I had to pick then I'll pick the latter the game encourages you to fight all throughout the game
