One Nation Under a Groove was a Funkadelic album in name but the sound is a true culmination of both the Parliament and Funkadelic sounds. By that time (late 70s) the two bands’ sounds were indistinguishable from one another.

As for the era when they both had distinct sounds, I’ll have to go with “Let’s Take It To The Stage” from Funkadelic and either “Clones” or “Mothership Connection” from Parliament.

If you include Bootsy’s Rubber Band (who used essentially the same musicians as Parliament/Funkadelic), their collective discography pre-1979 is GOAT.
