He left the role women play in this out of the equation which puts him in the same lane as Boyce Watkins and Derrick Jaxn. Umar is a smart dude he just doesn't know shyt about biches.

Women dont make "pookies" men do. The culture of "Pookie" is created by black men. And that same culture has been highlighted and glamourized by black men. So you gave the black woman "Pookie" on a platter, and now are upset she has a taste for it:respect:

Women have no role, the only role is for black men to get themselves or their families out of white supremacy. You all are correct that their is no going back at this point.

With Pan-globalism we will start fresh elsewhere. And the black men who leave the country will be considered true black men. Those that remain will be considered the assimilated. Rather you are "Pookie" or work on Wallstreet, you are two sides of the same assimilated coin. We strongly advise against living in the hood to inspire. Or attempting to hold the youth accountable. Your people have been genetically modified, and you could lose your life. Its best to lay low for now, with internet you have the ability to inspire once you leave the country, and can lead by example.

This is what I was taught man good is 🤷🏾‍♂️. At the end of the day if you're the leader it all falls down on you. That's what leadership is at the end of the day.
You can be a leader and have a few followers ignore your game-plan for them :yeshrug:

I understand Dr Umar's stance, but I don't believe in putting everything on Black men meaning civilian Black men. There is such a thing as free will!

But, I can agree that Black men and women regardless of their ascribed or achieved status bears responsibility for whatever outcome the collective is seeking.
Every community looks to it's men as leaders and protectors. Success or failure the men shoulder that responsibility. Hell, this extends to damn near every species known to man. Could the fact that we even consider shifting the blame onto our women be an indication of our failure as men?

I understand that, but Dr. Umar shirked responsibility on "Pookies & Ray Rays" who are also men. Those types of men are responsible as well which is my point. Women also have some responsibility. The community of adults all have to take responsibility. Not gonna put it all on one individual nor a subset of men.

Also unless you in politics brehs should just strive to be the leader of their households/church groups/volunteering etc., and branch out from there. This idea of being a leader of the nebulous "community" is steeped in MCU super concious fantasy, some of which Umar loves to indulge in.

Umar has two kids he does not take care of and is constantly getting hauled into court because he does not pay

He admitted that he does not even see his kids and his youngest he had no idea what her middle name was until he was in child support court for not paying

He admitted that he pays his child support in “bulk” Meaning he waits until he is threatened with loss of license/passport before he pays the minimum

The court has been trying for years to determine his income and have been forced to set his child support at minimum wage. The court also ordered that he get a job but he ignores it.

He galavants around the country telling people what to do with their kids but he almost NEVER talks about his kids. Never takes them with him. Never shows them

He admitted that he cannot see his youngest without supervision. So he got mad and refuses to see her

He has made two single mothers and married neither. He did have a mock wedding to two different women tho

He wants the black community to be where the “village” raises the children. He pushes this. This way the responsibility is off of HIM to raise his own seeds. He thinks this is a better model than having a committed relationship and marrying one woman and taking care of your own kids

Umar is not credible in this convo at all
:picard:

He's right on some level because black men CHOOSE whether a woman gets pregnant. Men CHOOSE whether they want to be in a relationship. If YOU aren't ready for fatherhood, you’ve got money for plan B and a condom. Women can choose deadbeats all day, but that should have nothing to do with YOU. If you are talking to a woman who would rather be with a man with "edge" that's not a loss on YOU, that's an L for HER because that man will make her a single mother or domestic abuse victim.

It does you no good to obsess about why some women keep making bad choices, but It does help you to recognize that water seeks its own level and ratchet women will choose men who are as fukked up as them. They feel judged and intimidated by men who actually have their shyt together because those men need more than just some attention. They need resources that she can't or isn't ready to provide.

He's halfway right.
Black people in general have moved away from a community based mindset to a more individualistic one.
That has had a profoundly negative effect on our community.
Men, OF ALL RACES, have been walking out on their children and families since forever.
So you would always be right to call on men to accept the responsibilities that they created.

However, that doesn't let women off the hook.
Choosing to not properly vet who you're having unprotected sex with has consequences.
Allowing yourself to get pregnant as a way of tying yourself to a man who may not want to be with you is a bad idea.
Even if the child's father is absent, that is no excuse for not raising a child properly.
You do not get to say "well, his father was a deadbeat" as an excuse for raising a person who will continue the cycle of destruction in our community.
The bottom line is that Black men and women have got to stop leaning on excuses as to why we're not doing the work to understand each other, support each other, have empathy for each other and protect each other.

Until we learn, as men and women, how to be together, these Black kids and the Black community on a whole will continue to suffer.
