At least assault rifles and automatic weapons should be banned.

Bill Clinton banned them in 1994 for 10 years. Congress refused to renew the ban in 2004.

As a gun owner, I have no problem with current gun laws...as I know them. I would not want to live in a country where I could not bear arms if I so choose. To me, it's a very precarious position to be in where the government has all the guns and the people have none. Easy recipe for military dictatorship....don't call me a conspiracy theorist...look it up.

And as a black man, I do not feel comfortable not owning a form of protection living in a society where black people can be killed at will without repercussion. For years, laws were created to either take away or extremely limit the chances for black men to own firearms. This was intentional as it kept black men in a weak position in addition to the policies of economic and political disenfranchisement. So, black people were vulnerable economically, politically and open to bodily harm due to having no form of protection.

It perplexes me when I see and hear black men who are anti-gun. It makes me wonder where they've been the last several hundred years.

I currently own a handgun. I will be getting my License to Carry Concealed and I will buy more handguns. At some point, I see myself buying a shotgun and/or an automatic weapon. Why not?

And If you change it to 4 deaths, the total is still over 100 incidents and less that 5% by Muslims. But you are half right tho about Fatherless losers being a big part of the problem.

Also I'm not anti gun, but def pro regulation. I literally spent Saturday afternoon outdoor target shooting w my father and sons for a couple hours with a .22 lever action rifle. But as fun as cool as they are, ACTUALLY owning an AK seems like some fantasy league COD shyt to me.

And walking that line is hard as a gun owner. I get flamed on Sig-talk for even being in favor of stronger back ground checks. I won't even go on thi site anytime soon since I saw the dude had a Sig MCX and those dudes freak out so much about a possible limit on their toys.

it saddens me that they dont take many things into consideration...

A concerted effort by multiple government agencies to systematically (falsely) imprison citizens for profit and or kill citizens not convicted of any crime whilst in their protective custody.

Institutionalised racism is supported and perpetuated at every level of your society, by the same Government who have never paid for the crime of enslaving and killing millions.

And you continue to pay them for this privilege.

But on reading some of the posts here and considering what the 2nd amendment is for. All of you pro-gun people must be out there, guns out defending your communities, standing up to illegal government sanctioned brutality and assaults on your rights.

I believe in stronger background checks and possible wait times before being able to take a gun home but a complete ban? Hell no! Banning guns will not stop someone who wants to get a firearm. Cocaine, heroin, ecasty is illegal but people still get high off it everyday. Gun control laws are extreme in Chicago but you have a bunch of shootings occuring all the time. In fact I might go to the range tonight to fire my AK-47
