What's the Coli's verdict of Shedeur this season? Should the Browns get a QB this offseason?

Yes. It would be malpractice to not get the best QB available with the 1st pick. Ty Simpson from Alabama should be there. The NFL is a business and if you have a high draft pick you QB until you hit on one. I would make it an even camp with the first rounder and Shedeur. Equal time with the ones, similar training etc. If Shedeur is the prospect people say he is he should definitely win the starter job. Right?
If they pick a QB first round, he will be the starter. They don't draft QBs first round to compete to be a starter.

Shaduer is the only rookie QB playing that is learning on the fly and has a coach who publicly hates his guts and was actively working on sabotaging his career. Can't really do a 1 to 1 comparison with other rookies based on how the browns and stefanski mishandled this QB situation.

He didn't get any reps in training camp and the preseason or even when he named qb2 after flacco was traded. In fact it came out he didnt get any real practice reps until he took over for Dillion and was named the starter 6 weeks ago. Which other rookie was thrown out there as starter with those circumstances completely unprepared by their coach? Add to that having the worst oline in the league and worst receving core I would say Shaduer has outplayed every other rookie this year.

And remember Shaduer is only in this position cause Dillon got hurt. Not because stefanski actually wanted to play him. The original plan by Stefanski was to not play shaduer at all this season. Then stefanski could draft a QB and cut Sanders and that would be it for his career. Fire stefanski, bring in a coach that believes in Shaduer, Beef up the oline and receivers in the draft, Give him a full off season with reps and practice knowing he is QB1 for the next year and allow Watson to mentor Shaduer as a vet QB2. Thats how you give him fair shot and put the browns in the best situation to improve next year.
We a see how it works out,but he still AVERAGE,just his last name and pops is making this a bigger story than it should be

A serious franchise doesn’t go into 2026 with a fifth round QB with middling stats anointed as QB1.

I think Browns roll with Watson as QB1 next year anyways.
I think they should go after Malik. Sheduer nor Gabriels have been good enough to warrant a starter spot if im the browns. No coach you bring it will believe in sheduer ( outside of his pops) he's a 5th round pick that hasn't shown start qualities. Sheduer has to find his way in the league just like Malik has before him . Talk about unfair shots vrabrel actually did Malik dirty, he played ps guys over him.

You gotta go all in on a qb and ride the wave of ups and downs. I hope they commit to him but it’s the Browns. History says they won’t.
