Because AD is not a stat padder. Love at no point in time was as dominant as Davis. His defense alone can win you a game.
Yall coli "experts" are slow as fukk
Came in to say almost the same thing, I don't fully agree with Love being a stat padder, he definitely had unlimited opportunities for a bad team, but he's a legitimate offensive threat and as far as I've seen he's always played within the natural flow of the game (he's also shown great progression offensively since he came in the league), and he's obviously a dominant rebounder and relatively speaking a very good passer. But like you said, Davis, pretty much from the time he came into the league, can take over a game defensively which Love can't do. Davis is just on a different level as an all-around player. Not saying that he's even better than Love as of now, he's just a more complete, prototypical big man, while also being able to do things very few players have ever been able to do. Ultimately the thing that separates the two in regards to MVP contention and overall respect and recognition, in my opinion, is that Davis can be the centerpiece for a contender, or at least he has the potential to be, while Love is a clear cut #2/3 option if you really want to compete for chips.
