So i think the difference is that a fetish is based on prejudice/stereotype/racism at a deeper level rather than just a preference.

The difference is in why you prefer something. If you prefer women with big asses because of how good she looks in a dress, that's a preference. If you prefer women with big asses because it looks good while you hitting it from the back, that's a fetish.

Basically, it's a fetish if you feel it enhances the sexual experience for you. If it is something you just like to look at, that's a preference
