I also truly believed russ was on another level until we okayed them nr the differences in IQ showed. Russ trying to do everything was unsustainable. He went off only to shoot his team out the game and had to sit very early in the game cause it became out of reach.

@A. R and i been hyping wall the entire season. Russ a beast but ive played with guys like that and unless youre a bytch ass who'll keep quiet and let dude have his way it gets old playing D then going the opposite way for dude to Jack and shot or look for his own.. Come back and hes not playing D and just wants a free rebound.. Then its rinse repeat. I dont care what his numbers are. Very soon itd dawn on you that hes using you for numbers when he stops doing a certain thing cause he got ten of them. This season okc was going nowhere and they invested in inflating russys stats.

Wall still has more to prove. There are mny good pgs but he and steph ate the easiest to build around and hes the best two way one. Coachs dream
ANOTHER FALSE NARRATIVE.

@DialM Do you believe Russ plays defense?

Have you ever seen games where a player is rested or hidden on the defensive side so he can have more energy on offense?

Do you believe players with high usage get to points where they get exhausted and end up hurting the team with further attempts because they don't defer?

In which statistical category does he make his teammates better?

Do you believe schematically certain stats like assists or rebounds (particularly offense rebounds) can be inflated or deflated?

There's qualities of Russ which are special and I'd like Wall to have some of those and that's why I rank Russ ahead of him. But Russ also has very exploitable flaws which Wall doesn't have

One is already guaranteed a spot in the hall of fame. The other has yet to make an all NBA team.

And I don't want to hear about knee injuries. Availability is part of being a great player.

The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way
nikkas actually choosing Wall? :gucci:

Call me when John averages double digits in rebounds. :camby:

I'd rather my bigs averaged double digits in rebounds and my point guard actuality guarded his opposite number rather than standing underneath the rim waiting for uncontested rebounds.

I wish that Westbrook wasn't playing for that triple double shyt this season. It's blinded some people from recognizing how great he is.

So what happens if the thunder win 50+ games next season. The bigs have career highs and Russ still gets a 3D. What's the argument then? Not attacking you, just curious.

But if the numbers are "arbitrary" why does it matter if your bigs average double digits rebounds. The thunder were the best rebounding team in the league.

What's left for the peanut gallery to criticize in your opinion?
His shot selection will always come under scrutiny. Which is fair enough, decision making most definitely isn't Westbrook's strong suit. But the problem is, it was exasperated by the fact he didn't have the proper perimeter help this season, and he was chasing history with averaging a triple double instead of just playing the game. He lost sight of what the end goal was all throughout the season, which is unfortunate because making the right decisions at the right time is the only thing stopping him from being the best player in the league. The only thing. Which is obviously a big part of the game, but it's not that big in the grand scheme of things.

I mean the amount of impact he had on the game this season, even despite playing for stats, was insane. I think the folk who saw that he was purposefully not playing defense to grab rebounds, and passing just to get assists for his triple doubles lost sight of the impact he had. He was manipulating the game in his favor for box score stats, which despite all its drawbacks the Thunder were still in position of winning games.

It's like the equivalent of a slugger who despite leaves himself open too many times for a counter, by trying to go for the knock-out every time; punches so hard that it offsets whatever mistakes he makes.

I agree with you his current role isn't conductive with our chances at winning at all; but at the same time I understand why his usage is so high and he chooses to play like this. you can look at our roster and come up with the reasons. we've needed additional playmakers/ballhandlers the last 4-5 years. surrounding him with complete offensive liabilities especially in today's game of space and motion kust doesn't work. it'll work when we have an outrageous pace, buy when rhe game slows down teams will ignore every option besides him. abrines/mcd is a step in a positive direction but he still needs other pnr creators that allow him to rest off the ball multiple possessions a game. watching the rockets series frustrated me because it was obvious he was tired in the 4th, and that he needed to sit back about 15-20 possessions on both ends in these games . I think people have this mystique feeling that he is superhuman and can run without a back up. dude hasn't had a backup pg in 3 years, presti should be fired for surrounding him with this shyt.
