I agree tho, Wall is not an elite defender although he probably will make All Defense this year. He was a great defender a few years ago though.

idk but I seen isiah drop a playoff high the last 15 years on him and thought . they'll say he switched off by design but most if not all those switches was due to his laziness of fighting over screens

This will undoubtedly turn into another "pure" point-guard thread. John Wall is just another CP3. Great, but he'll never be more than 2nd tier (not saying CP3 is 2nd tier). I put him in the same class as Damian Lillard.

That situation with him counting other players pockets soured me on him overall. He seems very hungry to be recognized as a super-star while having done nothing in his 7 year career to warrant that label.

I love what Russ is doing. Always respected him more than KD, cant really say anything bad about him. Elite athlete with elite motor. The guy is as fierce as a competitor as I have seen since MJ.

Wall is my guy though. He is a throwback to Magic/Isiah. He is way better than Dame is. With KD, OKC couldve taken out GSW this year, but think of KD on the Wiz? They wouldve possibly had the chance to stop Bron from getting to his 7 straight finals. Also if he stays healthy Wall will be better than CP3 when its all said and done because he will have the post-season resume to back it up.

We are in the era of great PG's and so it's difficult to gauge his defensive skills given that there are so many great one's at the position.

As for Schroder - you act like this isnt the playoffs.

I've seen stretches where Wall anchored the entire defense. Hell, one of the runs against Boston was kickstarted because of how engaged and active Wall was on defense. His problem is effort but when he applies himself he is a good defensive player.
