I've never pre-ordered a game

But yet, I've gotten every game I've wanted

I've never ran into a game that has been sold out everywhere...

So I've never understood the purpose of preordering a game

I can understand preordering a niche game or a game that you think will be a hidden gem (think demon souls), but what bugs me out is when cashiers try to get you to preorder games like Madden and COD. Those games will be available and the preorder bonuses for them aren't worth it.

I remember seeing like half my fiends list in line for the midnight launch...that was actually the last time I seen a game sold out in my area, even then it was only like a week and a half before a new shipment came in.
