I had this bright idea.
I don't want to box anymore. I'm lucky I made it out with the few brain cells I have left.
Let me try and keep those.

I need to find a less strenuous and less dangerous sport to keep me going.
Something not too hard on the body like fighting is. But still competitive.

I always wanted to play tennis.
Yea...let me try that. That seems easier.

After a month of tennis lessons and matches
I Think I snapped some shyt in my wrist.
Both knees felt like they were gonna explode.
And My muthafukkin feet was in flames

Them extra friendly craccaz in my tennis class kept hitting me up to see if I wanted play tho.

Extra friendly cracca: "Hey Big Guy. Haven't heard from ya in awhile. Was wondering if you wanted to come play doubles with me and the gang this weekend. We miss seeing ya out there."

Me: "Looka here cracca... I done ghosted y'all a month ago. Im fukked up"

I’m in a boot camp with a friend who is getting married and two of her cousins. I knew I was out of shape but I go walking everyday and do Zumba once a week. This trainer is killing us. I also think he has us doing too much for a beginner’s fitness class but no one is listening to me. I watched two fit looking white when throw up whole running laps, I do the easy version of everything and ignore him yelling at us.

Signed up for flag football. I ain't really done any sprinting since doing a basketball league a year and a half ago since I hyperextended my knee and rolled my ankle pretty bad. No idea why I got out there thinking I'd still be just as fast. I had dropped 25 pounds and was back to college weight so thought I'd be good. On top of that I got Covid a month before the league started and had complications from that and was only able to have like four workouts in a month.

I got out there and was getting blown by left and right anytime somebody went deep. Even gave up the game winning hail mary. After the play I just laid on the ground embarrassed as hell. Told myself time to go hard in the gym and get my top speed back. The third game of the season was covering a deep route and dude hit a double move on me and juked me. Planted to chase him and pulled my hamstring and a back muscle trying to avoid a teammate and had to sit out the rest of the game while dude scored a TD.

One more to add even though it was last year. I was on a cruise and had been downing drinks all day so it may have contributed. Was talking to this baddie. Get her out on the dance floor. First songs I feel like legs getting weak but I'm a vet at this and no to switch it up to a two step for a bit to play it off. Second song hits and she gets more aggressive with the grinding so I try to keep up even though I feel my tank on E.

Next thing you know I think I'm dying. I lost all moisture out of my mouth and start getting light headed. I went jogging off the floor looking for some water (I had already been chugging water all day with the alcohol). That was the first moment in my life where it hit me that my ass is old now.

There is this hills workout that takes place a few times a week in Piedmont Park (ATL). Workout itself is pretty simple, run up the hill, backpedal up the hill, bear crawl halfway and sprint the rest etc

I went on a Monday morning after a full football Sunday and not much sleep. I was by far the slowest person out there that day, :snoop: maybe 20 people (men and women). Couldn't catch my breath for shyt, ended up quitting halfway through and took my ass home :franics: I was so embarrassed and im in decent shape, workout a few times a week on the regular. :smh: Maybe I just had a bad day but that was the last session for 2023 so i felt like i went out like a lame.

It should start back up in the spring, im coming back like Goku after training at 100x gravity. :fire:

1st Round Playoff Exits
Y'all realize the older you get the more you need to stretch just to do basic activity correct?
That’s really what a lot of people are getting humbled from.

Stretching and warming become more important as you get older.

I warm up for 5 minutes, before any workout and it makes a world of difference.

And I also stretch for 5 minutes at night.
