What's the marketing angle with these Interracial commercials?

Uh, that they exist and welcome them. :why::mindblown:

The whole thing started with that Cheerios Super Bowl commercial a few years ago. It's just marketing. It's not some "conspiracy to divide the black man and black woman and black family". We already done that ourselves :camby:

Above the fray.
IR commercials with black men and white women are still pretty rare.

Usually the couple is "together" but there's no sign of affection...hugging, kissing etc.

Now if the swirl couple is white man + POC female? Completely different, much more screen time of the couple together and the romantic side is highlighted. They aren't just sitting in a room with kids.

White men + Asian or Black women is everywhere now. White & Latina is less common because only white Latinas seem to get any air time and you can't really tell what race they are anyway.

Swirling on TV is not equal. It's mostly white dudes getting it in.

apparently some of these are real families. the one below is. i saw it posted on yt and guys were complaining she was a single mom. imo commercials should mostly reflect population. for now that's mostly one race families, but multiracial families are definitely growing

Watching anything geared for women with your wife and you will see it at almost every commercial break. Also content geared for kids.

Watching shows like "Put a Ring on it" or "Married at first sight" with my wife and every commercial break seemingly has ir couples. But only black and white. No east asian, no hispanic, no indian/west asian, no native american.

It checks off boxes, that's it. They hit the jackpot if you can't really tell if they're black or latino. Bonus points if you can shoehorn some gayness too.

Black male white woman couples are statistically more commom than white male Black female couples in real life.

Black male white woman couples depictions are rarer in advertising than the reverse recently and historically.

And as you stated more racist ire is thrown at Black male white female couples advertisements like the Cheerios one years ago.

Advertisers know and assume white male consumers don't like Black male and white female pairings.

Also they know Black female consumer dollar and education levels have risen along with buying power.

2 birds in one stone.
