They've actually managed to look back fondly on Dubya Bush.
If you lived in the 2000s, you would know how insane and surreal that is.

Nothing lasts forever. If you love the theater you can lament that fact that even poor folk went to see live theater performances before television and film took off.One thing about network/cable pre-streaming and TiVo was there were tv-based collective cultural experiences. Everyone would watch a thing at the same time and that would be what people talked about the next day. Like when Michael Jackson would drop music video premieres during prime time.

Playing retro games. The only NES game I am willing to play is Supet Mario 3. Anything else from that era/system
I’ve done a recent run on Final Fantasy 3. I enjoyed.
Beyond that, N64/Playstation2/Dreamcast is as far as I would go back and even that is game specific. N64 for the wrestling only. I don’t think I can enjoy Golden Eye if I played it today. Dreamcast for Shenmue only the rest of the era

Well aware that it's a result of not just Trump but the Republican party as a whole getting exponentially worse. That doesn't change the fact that the fond light people shine on W now isn't insane.I would have bet everything I own that there would never be a President worse than George W Bush.
And not even a decade later we saw Donald Trump.
So only by comparison can I see “nostalgia” for W.
