Earlier this year when I went to Detroit. I made it my personal mission to see J. Dilla's crib plus go to his favorite record store melodies and memories. Chopped it up with the owner for several minutes and even got to put my signature on the famous yellow wall. Dilla, Qtip, Questlove, Karriem Riggins, Al Profit and many others have their signature on that wall and mine is above Eminems 2008 dated signature
Lol I did something similar

I went to Atlanta because I wanted to see all spots OutKast name checked in their music

I wanted to do a similar thing for LA rappers, but I don't know the politics out there :sadcam:

Above the fray.
Went to a record convention, even though I didn't spin or collect records. Just to do it.

Compiled a decent sized collection of RUN DMC news clippings, magazines, and tv appearances in the pre-youtube era. Ads and tags from their Adidas clothing collection, old Right-On posters, etc.

The day after Jay Z brought Nas out on stage to end their beef, I was at the gas station, bumpin' the Stillmatic Intro. The car on the other side of the pump was playing Never Change. We never met each other before, but we simultaneously came from around the pump and gave each other a dap and hug. As I hugged him, I said "Hip hop is alive and well"
:mjlol: Ain’t no way, breh

Found some scratch samples - sound bytes some legendary turntablists use.....by going through internet rabbit holes....there was no lead up to them. I was obsessed and two months later found two separate ones.

I shut the music off, and just sat and was like holy fukk!

They are both less than one second long but are so dope to scratch.
