I started by hitting up Barnes and Nobles' self help finance section, and read up on various approaches. I like David Bach's, "The Automatic Millionaire". Comprehensive and straight to the point. He has a reboot 2.0 out now, of the same book.

Make sure to get a fin plan for a flat rate. Don't get caught up with investment schemes.

go to HR and change your withholding from "0" to "1". bigger checks, smaller return

most i got was like 1200. changed it to 1 and got like 200 last year
