black folks hair become "dreads" by nature...people are amazed when i tell them i got my locks from doing absolutely nothing to my hair...i don't understand people paying money to have "dreads"...it is ridiculous...

I respect all forms of locs.

Just saying some people want a particular thickness, style of parting, etc and that's why they pay for it done professionally. Free form locs also aren't as accepted in the workforce, I'm not saying we should bend over to please others but sometimes you have to choose a different battle to wage.
