I should also say this thread isnt meant to offend or trigger anyone. I just honestly wanted to know why.

I rarely use social media myself. I have then but don't keep up with it often. Moreso just share stuff with my girl and a few friends.

Keep in mind that just because you are or aren't into something, that doesn't mean the other side is wrong

I hear that. But i mean isnt there a grey shade here thats not black and white?

You can choose to only share what u want, you don't have to be vain or a comedian or post anything about your actual life.

i just want to encourage brehs to get their piece of the media movement.

unless they suffer from anxiety/low self esteem or believe that you dont have anything interesting to share. There's a lot of ppl hiding behind "privacy" but in reality they just dont have any social proof/hobbies and thats ok too, understandable.

For myself, I have no genuine interest in anyone’s life outside of my own and the folks who I can actually contact on the phone.

I don’t like the idea of my personal life being broadcasted to mutha fukkas I don’t even really fukk with like that.
I guess my question to you is why do you feel like social media = broadcasting your life?

Plenty of ppl never show their faces just their art, hobbies, or whatever.

I know of a dude who is a real estate agent. He only posts interior of homes for sale and before/after upgrades. Get inquiries via DM all the time about viewing the homes or how much a certain upgrade was. Sends em to his construction buddy and they kick him 5-10%.

what is the real reason, void of all bitterness and reserse-hatred for the system (ex. "It's shallow, and vain, blah blah") I see a lot of ppl talk about all the reason social media "sucks".

Let's be really 100% here. Most of the nikkas here are here way too often to have a really exciting life. I'm not judging either; I just assume you're low-status in real life, especially if ur spending time critiquing everything negatively.

Are you afraid/anxious when using non-anon social media? Are you just embarrassed by how little status you have? Do you avoid it because you can't lie when your face is attatches to it?

Be real.
I guess my question for you is, what is the value on online status?

I have enough going on that I could pimp my family and talents for social media clout. But why? I have enough going on offline to not need that validation.

Plus there are different ways to enjoy social media. I use it to actually connect with people like friends I don't get to see often. And I follow various celebrities and musicians. I don't need to play the clout game to get value out of social media. Most people who play that game seem to be miserable.
