That solar storm tho. If that shyt hits earth and the whole electrical grid is wiped out, humans will be going back to medieval times.

Back around 2015, the US had a meeting between a large number of agencies, including all the three letter agencies. It was called the United States EMP commission. Their goal; combining their resources to understand how such a large event would impact the country.
What they found was interesting to say the least. Within 1 year of total collapse (due to ~ 9 strategic electrical substation locations being attacked & rendered useless), about 90% of the population would be dead from various causes. They found that one component necessary at each of these larger electrical relay stations takes about 36 months to be made, and they are made over in S Korea…so they wouldn’t be able to fix the issue potentially caused by A grid system failure, which hasn’t been updated since the 1960 when it was largely implemented to the scale it is used today.
They simultaneously admitted that the US government and all its entities are incapable of directly responding to such a scenario. The military only has backups for itself, which are also extremely limited and would be stressed to the point of failure very quickly.
It wouldn’t take much to down these ~9 locations through criminal/terroristic activity.
