Philly sounds a lot like B-more just with the over-pronounced southern draw at times. Tripped me out because I'm from Philly but when I spent time around true DMV people didn't realize how much of a draw there is down there. And the B-more people that don't have the draw, sound just like Philly people.

When you say DMV, you don't include Baltimore, right? The Baltimore area isn't part of that.

I feel like Most people from ny all the way to dc has a b*stardized urbanized low country accent with regional influences.

There's alot of similarities and it makes sense since most blacks in the nOrth east have roots in the carolinas and georgia

Yeah

I thought that was what the M was for, just all of Maryland as More is only 40 miles away from DC...but what do I know.

The M is for the Maryland suburbs of DC, not the entire state of Maryland. Baltimore is a separate Metropolitan Area. DMV is the DC Metropolitan Area. It's like calling somebody from Philly a New Yorker just because the two cities are 60 miles apart.

In Upstate NY it ranges from neutral to slightly southern. We don't sound anything like people from NYC though

But they're more than 60 miles apart and they're in 2 different states. I get what you're saying but it's not the same.

Its been 3 different people who posted actually videos and proof showing this.

but I guess coli nikkas know more than scientist and youtube

It's funny you mention this because I noticed this with that Emeril Lagasse guy (the chef). The first time I heard him talk I figured he was from the New York area and them my mom told me he was from New Orleans.

I literally had the :what: when she told me. I didn't believe her until he talked about it later on in the show.

According to the wiki you posted it sounds like that particular accent is present in a really specific area of New Orleans so it's probably not the common one you hear.
