soph year of college. i had transferred schools and was jumping into classes a few days after the start of the semester. one class required a sign off or something from a department head, so the professor, small indian woman, walked with me down the hall to the offices to try to find the right person. walked into the office of a middle aged white woman (wasn't the right person, not sure who she actually was, seemed like some department head, just not the right one), and my professor was asking her where to find the person we were looking for.

she gives a long winded answer about where the person might be, without once looking up from the paperwork on her desk. after about a minute of talking, she looks up at me, stops mid-sentence and goes 'MY, you're a good looking man' (might have said handsome, i don't remember, it's 4 years ago now). i said something like thanks, and we left to find the person.

of course the professor no-sold it, like nothing unusual happened.

I think most women are just confused by the concept of "chasing/approaching" men myself included. Like that doesn't come natural at all for me. Like the thoughts are obviously there but actually voicing them?! I'd die.

Probably also because I couldn't see myself making sexual comments to strangers; like there has to be a clear indication that this is going toward a relationship for me to feel comfortable to be that bold and tell someone about what I'm thinking of doing to them. People more into casual things would have a easier time with this.

Depending on what it is it gives an ego boost but it can be humbling at the same time. When it really is geniuine, it makes you feel humble. I have had women tell me I am handsome coming out the barbershop at red lights and it was never any extra shyt, just letting you know you look good, it makes you feel good but humble enough to not let it get to your head. Kinda comes and gos but I remember hearing somewhere most guys me included remember compliments forever while women dont care as much since they get them all the time.
