the song is called harlem shake. Why did they falsely name it the Harlem Shake?
That is my main problem with this whole thing.....that is what's causing confusion.

nikka sitting in chairs lookingtalking about "back in my day, the dance maneuver was a simple shimmy of the arms to the left and right with furious velocity. Sometimes the shirt was involved for stability of the flailing limbs. This new incarnation is a completely mockery and blasphemous of the sacred institution none as the Harlem Shake. I'm appalled at this travesty. I will be placing a complaint to the congressional library."![]()

Its a song though.I think that some people have a legitimate gripe with this "new harlem shake" simply because it totally rips off the "old & original Harlem shake" name. I think people would have absolutely no problem if the white peoples version if it was called "the crazy legs" or "the spazz out" or somethin like that with its own name. But the mere fact that it is stealin a portion of hip hop culture into what many people think is corny, that's where the "issue" is.
Its like if right now, some new youtube frenzy/ MEME came out called "the dougie" or "stanky leg" and white people were doin some ol other shyt that wasn't consistent with the original dance. People would take issue.
I ain't comin in here grumpy on some salty shyt. This new Harlem shake is ok I guess and people are simply havin fun and i Ain't mad at that. But people just need to kno a bit more about the history of what the real Harlem shake is![]()
whats really gonna make yall mad is that they call this type of electronic music - Trap Music.
