I've stated what I like about his ring work time and time again, while at the same time admitting his character work is pretty shytty. Don't know what else to do

Seeing how both Ambrose & Rollins have evolve there character Roman really hasn't still rocking the Shelid gear & music. They tried to book him as Cena/Hogan underdog/overcome the odds in 2016 that shyt just doesn't fly. He is too damm big & strong to be playing an underdog role.

Ambrose & Rollins doing alot of the ring work cover for how limited he is in the ring. When he was a hot tag clean up mode he was over. One minute they want us to feel sorry for dude next he is squashing a whole crew of dudes. Booking has not help him at all but everyone said oo he has the look you need to have more then a look to last and show far he is average both in the ring and on the mic. Your top guys has to be great at one of those thing.

This is basically what it comes down to. He's not Great Khali status, but he isnt a star or someone that should be made the face of the company just because top brass thinks he's attractive. They've tried a bunch of different angles and its all failed so far, plus people are predisposed to rejecting this shyt because they already saw it for a fukkin decade with Cena. Fans dont want to cut Roman any slack because it needs to be made clear to WWE from the jump that this shyt aint the wave. And even still they'll probably keep ignoring the fanbase.

90% of the stuff people hold against him are all on creative/booking, so maybe the thread should be 'What don't you like about Reigns as a wrestler?'. The truth is the man's in-ring work fits with his character (powerhouse wrestler) and in that role he is easily believable as one of the top guys in the company. The big problem is that they want him to be the top guy and it's just not selling. Even though there's been a stretch between WM 31 and Survivor Series where he wasn't in the title picture, has it really felt like he hasn't been in the title picture for over a year and a half now? Even when he wasn't chasing the title they were practically pushing him as such and it's hurt him. Roman would benefit a lot if they slowed down on his push for a while and just let him cook in the midcard with the US or IC title for a bit while building/establishing a couple of other legit top guys. Just look at how during the Attitude Era when Stone Cold and Rock were the biggest guys in wrestling, there were still a bunch of other legitimate main eventers and contenders around, a feeling that is completely gone these days. It's the biggest reason people are fiending for Roman vs Cena because that's legitimately the biggest match they could make on this roster not involving part-timers.

I wouldn't exactly say talented but he's at least above average when he's on his game (I'm tempted to say his match last night with Styles but I need to watch it again to make sure) but when he's not, it's pretty obvious (see: matches with Big Show/Kane/any of his matches that have gone longer than about 12 minutes) Roman's a guy who is good in a short span of time but kind of waivers if he goes on for too long.

Here's the thing about this Roman kid..he's not there considering this SUPER push over the last 3 years in particular. If he went heel, all of this could of been avoided. He could make mistakes and be off brand a little as a heel instead of being the Corporate Champ disguised as the anti-Authority Face they tried to push leading to Mania this year. It was embarrassing for him to be booked like that at the last two Royal Rumbles in general.
