What kind of screen screen protectors were they? That is the biggest difference between most $20 screen protectors and a cheap $5 buck one.

Glass screen protectors tend to be more expensive of providing the strongest character protection while keeping the screen clear of any color dilutions you expect from regular plastic protectors.
