Is it just me or do authoritarian a$$holes have a very easy time getting elected? I'm talking about people like Putin, Netanyahu, Trump, Bolsonaro, Kim-Jong Un, etc.

Seems like the world would be a much better place if people would simply elect better leaders, but that often doesn't happen. And it's not just recently, even back in the day you had people like Hitler being popular. Maybe humans are just naturally tribalistic and prone to gravitate towards demagogues?

Yes they are manipulating and tell idiots what they want to hear. All these figures have cult like followers. People who lose themselves in worshipping their idols.
