I used to live over in Centennial Gardens behind the Best Buy over in Southwind.

That area ain’t nice. :mjlol:

My girl used to talk shyt about me living over there, talking about I’m too close to Shelby Drive and Hickory Hood. And I’m like “well damn bytch everywhere in Memphis is close to somewhere bad”.

That area has large houses because affluent white people used to live there before they hit that white flight over down to Collierville. So the houses are big but they cheap as fukk because nikkas ain’t keeping them up. Grass ain’t cut, broken down cars on the street, fences missing half the pickets, terrible schools, etc….. I never saw a Krispy Kreme get shot up till I lived over there.

That’s one of those areas where you drive down Hacks Cross and you can tell what everything USED TO BE. Cause everyone who was there originally left, and you got a bunch of Ice Bar, Juicy Crab type restaurants in an old Applebees.
Nah bruh im talikng bout the massive gated mansion district near TPC Southwind.

On the otherside of Centennial Gardens is fukkin a Costco, that area ain't luxurious but it ain't ghetto either.

I’m still pissed they kept the “grizzlies name”. Ain’t no fukkin’ grizzly bears in Tenne-fukkin-see! NBA should have a rule that teams can’t name their shyt after animals that aren’t native to their state.

Yup,you see the vision. They would much rather move the team over to nashville which is a wealthy city. Considering the cost of ticket prices and the desired demographic of these nba teams, its pretty obvious:mjpls:
More like Seattle :mjpls:. Tennessee isn't on the NBA's map for new franchise cities.

This is also how they like to keep good things from black neighborhoods in the South. Memphis is basically a big black neighborhood. They talk bad about it until they can get it moved to the white area. Same thing happens with Birmingham, and despite all of that the major attractions are still in the city.

Like people have said in this thread I wouldn't be surprised if the team eventually gets moved to Nashville. Especially after the new Indoor stadium is built and Nashville gets that Super Bowl pop. They already have the Bridgestone arena downtown for them.

Naw, the NBA won’t move the Grizzlies there if they try and put them in Bridgestone.

That’s a point of contention.

They would need their own stadium.

So you as a black player with only 2 teams looking at signing u for 100 to 200 million dollars

And it’s Memphis and Utah…. Where u going

Whole Memphis including the burbs isn’t stealing and robbing

That’s the thing. Are you going to build a contending team of players whose only option is play for Memphis or be out the league?

The league has changed, players can force their way out. You need cities players actually want to be in.
