One could say So So Def but Kriss Kross was seen as a joke kiddie group and Da Brat was a Snoop clone. And I'm saying this as someone that actually likes their shyt.

Arrested Development is a fair choice, but Speech wasn't seen as a straight up MC. IMO the first people out of ATL that made other regions over ATL lyricism is Andre and Big Boi.

outkast followed arrested development's blueprint.

outkast was the 1st backpack southern group. thats it.

atlanta was already on the map and the place to be once laface set up shop. ironically, they signed outkast years later.

i can say this much tho, the people that are rejecting that argument, using jada & kurupt as examples, all conveniently ignored the part where the bul said that andre appeals to eminem's fanbase more than the other names.

also, its starting to make sense how kurupt started getting props on the net in recent years from people who usually dont mess with that type chit.

That part wasn't ignored. What does Andre's appeal have to do with Eminem's fan base? Andre is the only rapper he listed without a solo album. When Em dropped the list, Andre was not droppin' rap verses like he does these days. His appeal to Em's fan base would've been predicated on Em's fans going back and checking the OutKast albums.

I guess Nas, Jay, Pac, Biggie were never viewed as GOAT rappers until Eminem mentioned it either. Do they not appeal to Eminem's fan base more than the other names?

Like I posted before, if it's a question of appeal, it has more to do with the MC himself and not because Eminem said it.
