2016 - Voted on election day with my mom early in the morning. Sunny day... optimism and then that night, my class was cancelled as my graduate school had an election night party. Free food, got to kick it and watch the early returns. Then, around 10:30, had one of my female friends crying on my shoulder as the midwest states were too close to call and FL went red. Our dean came in and was like "German betting markets give Trump a 75% chance." Went home, showered, slept, and then at like 6:30 AM my brother woke me up and said the MFer won. I had an early meeting in DC the next day... people were zombies..

2020 - I'm going to do early voting tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm still in Maryland. Probably going to choose the local high school or gymnasium. We can vote anywhere in our county for the early vote. I early voted in 2012 and that took me 90 minutes..

No difference for me between 2016 and 2020 other than in 2016 it wasn't raining and in 2020 it was. I live within walking distance of the place that I vote at. Took about 20 minutes both times

2016 - Living in Northern VA, voting spot was right around the corner from my place, but took about 30 mins in line or so due to the concentration of people. A lot of people mention PTSD from that election on here and I believe that I'm suffering from it. shyt was weird AF to hear that Trump was elected, and I haven't felt right since.

2020 - Plan on going on person to the local place. Took a step back in life and moved to quieter (and much cheaper) Central PA about two years ago, and unfortunately it's rather MAGA around here. My lady and I are on the same political page and we struggle around here with circles of people, and eventually probably move east towards Philly to where it's a bit more progressive thinking.

in my 30s, black male in arizona. in both elections i voted by mail. same large packet to explain some things. you still need the internet to really know about those judges. you can vote in person as well but i havent done that since 2008.

2016 in person at my local polling place. Spent about 15 mins start to finish. CEO had a $500 gift card raffle for everyone who brought their “I voted” sticker to work

2020 - got my ballot in the mail, dropped it at a drop box located at city hall

I’ve never had a wait more than 10 mins to vote and have worked for companies that want their employees to vote - it’s a company holiday at my current company - so I’m not wowed by mail in voting, but I know this is more convenient/a game changer for a lot of people, especially those who couldn’t take time off in previous years

The day after the 2016 election will always stick with me. Most of my office, and all of my team, was so deflated. We were supposed to have a team meeting and my manager bumped the agenda and allowed everyone to talk about how they were feeling :mjlol: I’m like y’all white family members in those cities you left to come to the bay are racist, what else is new :mjpls:

Chicago voter

I early voted both times. Not at my local precinct but at a super-site downtown.

2020 was especially quick. Like one person in line and multiple unused voting machines.

Since most people are WFH, the downtown site was the move. If your voting district allows it, I would choose a polling place in a commercial area instead of residential.
