I've seen some people come at Cory Booker on here, I'm curious why. This is a genuine question, I'm openly coming from a place of ignorance on Booker as a candidate currently.

All I know about Booker is that he's worked with Bryan Stevenson on ending mass incarceration, and that he's fought for reparations. Was I duped somewhere along the way?

That’s a good question, I don’t see the problem everybody seems to see

But if we’re being honest, a documentary got him where he is in his political career, he couldn’t even beat sharpe James on his own :comeon:

Three things I remember about Cory Booker in terms of negative politics.
  1. He went after Obama because Obama had the audacity to chastise corporations about their hiring practices during the recession.
  2. He was voting against Bernie's bill to import cheaper drugs from Canada because his major donors were pharmaceutical companies.
  3. Then there was the juelzing of reparations when he was on the Breakfast Club.

so your concern is that you don't trust his ability to win? Not tryna put words in your mouth, I value your perspective so I'm tryna make sure I totally get where you're coming from

Those are pretty interesting, I'll need to watch the juelzing on reparations because he seems pro-reparations from what I've seen but like I said I'm pretty ignorant overall on him. The second one, while a negative, doesn't bother me too much in comparison to other candidates, but I could be convinced otherwise since idk the details

He’s definitely in over his head, but he’s not some evil super villain like people around here and on twitter make him out to be

All if the above plus his messaging seems more concerned with being non threatening to white people than with being responsive to black people's needs.

After Obama, left leaning voters, black white and all, want a leader with more backbone.
