I had Jamaican oxtail the other day for the first time , I don't know if I went to a bad spot
because it didn't impress me much.

Could be from a bad spot. Not everyone knows how to cook it. I went 15 years of my life not eating oxtail because the first 2 or so times I had it, it wasnt cooked right. Now I love that shyt.

How many of yall, who aren't caribbean, grew up eating oxtail REGULARLY?
I had it before but in the last 10-15 yrs oxtail got gentrified by everybody (not just cacs)
prices soared and now people acting like oxtails was always a staple meat

Good ol southern roots black, my family used to make them a good 5/6 times a year. They was just another dinner, wasn’t nobody going wild over oxtails. Definitely seems the Jamaican oxtails got out into the food hype circuit a decade or so ago and people have gone wild over them since.
