What's yall thoughts on the Blaxplotation era?

It was an amazing era in film with a touch of cringe thrown in. You had an upper crust and low end Blaxplotation, but most of it was original, adventurous, and way against the norm and mainstream. Way more risk taking and character driven stories than today's predominant black films.
