lol the only actual Ethnicity on the list in African American.

lol toss this thread to the bushes.

There are too many ethnicities to name them all and the purpose of this thread is to see what percentage of this site is African American. I put down choices so that most people would choose something.

I don't feel like doing this now. people get sensitive when it comes to terminology about ancestry,lineage,geography, culture & politics.

Africa is a continent. Generally speaking modern day northen africans aren't the same ethnicity for example as west africans or south africans. You can't clump all Africans under one ethnicity.

Too many African ethnicities to name and most have similarities to each other.The purpose of this thread is to see what percentage of this site is African American. I put down choices so that most people would choose something. A half-assed attempt to separate Africa could cause confusion and then i would have to make the other choices less vague too.

That's like saying American as a ethnicity when it's used as a Nationality. As well as to refer to the people who live in the North American continent as a whole or the south American Continent as a whole.

The Caribbean Islands are apart of America. So any person with African ancestry who lives in the Americas is African American. But African American is a fairly new term made up by Jesse Jackson. Also Haitians are technically latino too.

Im aware that Hatians are technically latinos but they rarely refer to themselves as such and I want the Haitians of thecoli to choose something.

African American is refers to the group of people who descend from the Africans that were enslaved in the US. I know America is a continent but the US is commonly refered to as America by most people in and out of the States.

Asian is also a bit misleading as well for the same reason as Africa as a ethnicity is too. The middle east isn't a actual place that just a name people from the united states and Europe use to refer to western Asia.

Indian is also a nationality not a ethnicity it's a wide array of various ethnic groups in India.

Im trying to make choices around the way people identify. Its pointless to make a choice for every ethnicity. People from the middle east and a lot of Indians dont view themselves as Asian so i gave them their own choice.

I checked the AA box. I meant to say I was checking African American. But my dad is an front West Africa and my mom is AA so I could probably check both.
