It's pretty hard to say
90-96 was crazy in both NY with Jazz, minimalistic Boom Bap and all that to Cali's g-funk, Roc-a-fella 99-2005 was crazy, 2005 to 2016 has been crazy as well. All the way from the Jeezy/Gucci styled trap to the Metro/Sonny/808 mafia shyt to Kanye West's complex production to 40 and that "dream rap" or Alchemist produced tapes etc.

no signature sound Producers today.. thats why all these producers gotta name tag the records just so you know who did the beat:smugfavre:
I'd say that it's cause there's like 10000 producers today.

It's def trap music for me, nothing beats a great trap beat. From 36 mafia, to toomp & shawty redd, luger, young chop,mike will, and now metro and southside..ita fukking goat :noah::ohlawd:

2nd is 90's boom bap, i almost only listen to wu and mobb deep in the winter
