I grew up in the east coast and I can honestly say we have some of the worst beaches in the US (NY-NC). You have to drive to Myrtle to get a decent looking beach. Pan handle FL is nice, San Diego and laguna beach area are pretty dope as well. Best beach I've been to is North Shore Oahu. Country side laid back feel with some of the best sunsets.

How you grow up on the east coast and go to the worst beaches. You need to go to Emerald Isle, Outer Banks, Oak Island... Hilton Head or Kiawah Island.

My top attributes are nice sand, warm clear water, not too crowded and SAFE wildlife that's accessible. Off that criteria I got to go with the beaches of St.John and St.Thomas. The Secret beach in Ambergis Caye Belize is good too

Florida got some of the best beaches but there have been sharks in the water multiple times when I was swimming, ain't got time for that. Other places have cool beaches but the water is either too cold, not clear, dangerous , trash sand , or too crowded (LA, SE Asian beaches, Cape Town, Costa Rica etc)

Mann, we were poor and didn't travel much growing up. We used drive to VA beach, Ocean City, Wildwood, NJ and sometimes Myrtle. As i got I older i traveled more. I've been to Outer Banks, Hilton Head, even Dewey and Rehoboth are pretty decent, but just not my vibe. Cali coast and FL pan handles beaches are still so much better imo.
